What did you do before you arrived at Civium? This covers a lot of years, but just before, I worked with Colliers International in Commercial Property Management and Leasing. I have had several of my own businesses including being the owner and property manager of my own commercial property, and being a Property Developer.
Why did you join Civium? I was offered a strata management role and decided it would be interesting and challenging.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? Helping owners and committees in the smooth operations of their strata plan, often this involves solving historical problems, but it is always pleasing to turn things around and know that your efforts are appreciated.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you? Anything outdoors:- walking, gardening, horse riding, mountain climbing…
What did you do before you arrived at Civium? I worked as a Compliance Manager in STM (Strata Title Management), previous to that I was working as solicitor in Italy.
Why did you join Civium? I share the values and the goals set by the company.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? Delivering excellent customer service and helping in the resolution of issues, especially when they related to repairs and maintenance, as these are the things that became a reason of frustration for strata owners.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you? I am currently studying law part-time, and when I have spare time I like swimming.
What did you do before you arrived at Civium?
Effie joined Civium Strata People as our Strata Finance Manager after working as an accountant for 4 years.
Why did you join Civium? After obtaining formal qualifications in completing her CPA studies she decided that she would like to work for Civium Strata People to do something different.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? Civium Strata People are very fortunate to have Effie’s as part of the Civium team, in particular when it comes to her attention to detail and high standard of work which is imperative when presenting financial statements and reports.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you? In Effie’s spare time she loves to run and is currently working toward completing a half-marathon later this year.
Helena is an asset to our Civium Strata People team having been involved in and acquired invaluable experience working as a Managing Agent in the Strata Industry since 1999.
She has accumulated extensive knowledge and experience in legislation; the requirements of the Owners Corporation and the necessary skills to properly and professionally administer any strata scheme.
Working in Sydney’s eastern suburbs managing over 1600 lots has also provided Helena with a sound knowledge of the Act enabling effective management of both Commercial and Residential developments.
The demanding nature of a Strata Managers role requires a high level of customer service and effectively building strong and trusting relationships with Owners. Helena places customer service as a priority. Her natural ability and strength is in communicating with Owners, providing understanding, empathy and tact to achieve the best possible outcome.
What did you do before you arrived at Civium? I joined Civium Strata People as the Accounts Receivable Officer after working in the merchant services industry.
Why did you join Civium? I was at a point in my career where I was looking for a change to further develop my career options and expand my skills professionally. Civium Strata People were the obvious choice in order for me to pursue this and Civium are extremely fortunate that he has joined our team.
What is the most satisfying part of your job?
I take great satisfaction in assisting clients to manage their payments in a way that is beneficial for both the company and the client. I strive on customer service and gain a great deal of satisfaction assisting people and ensuring a positive outcome.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you?
In Jakob’s spare time he lives and breathes sport! Not only does he play 4 different types of sports including Aussie Rules and European Handball but he also loves watching sport whilst socialising with his friends and family.
What did you do before you arrived at Civium? Before I began my career at Civium I worked as a Terminations Officer for novated car leases to Government employees. Starting out as a new lease provider, later transitioning into a Terminations Officer handling residual payouts. This involved auctioning vehicles, organising direct payout of the residual valve of the vehicle or privately selling on behalf of the Government employee.
Why did you join Civium? I joined Civium to begin a career in an industry that is a fast paced environment with being responsible for handling a person’s most important asset(s). Civium promotes a great family like culture, an opportunity to grow and learn under a company structure that supported your ambitions at each step of the way and often provides new opportunities that is best suited to the employee. Civium encourage innovation, internal promotion and leadership from some of the best in the industry.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? On a daily basis as a Division Manager I am faced with many complicated situations to which I am relied upon to provide advice and guidance to internal staff and external clients. The satisfaction comes when situations are resolved successfully and in the best interest of those affected, coupled with the fact that Civium at every opportunity show their commitment and support to internal staff and external clients as if it were their investment or home in which they owned and were apart of.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you? My interests outside of work relate to Djing at various local clubs at every opportunity and being as active as possible with either the gym, sports & bodyboarding at my former home, the coast.
In the 5 years Jarrod has been with Civium Strata People, he has achieved a great things, resulting in promotion within a short period of time from Strata Manager to a Senior Strata Manager to Pod Leader – responsible for a team of 4 Managers, and more recently with a promotion to become responsible for 50% of the organisations department as one of two Strata Division Managers, along with a portfolio of high profile clients.
Jarrod has the ability to translate and interpret relevant legislation that is consistently of a very high standard, whilst remaining unbiased through his understanding and application of the regulations to those who rely on him and the specific information that is required. Jarrod demonstrates on a daily basis, to internal staff and external clients, his clear and concise understanding of challenging situations in which Jarrod accomplishes a positive outcome for all parties involved through education, managing expectations and producing results that are in line with legislative regulations. Jarrod has acquired many skills and vast experience that he applies through understanding how the legislation should be operated, consequences of outcomes for external clients and the organisation whilst achieving successful results.
Jarrod has been an integral part of designing and building procedures in assisting Managers within the organisation to become more efficient, provide a higher level of service to external clients and create improved methods to effectively be adopted by the organisation in current daily routine. Jarrod consistently manages the department and a high level of clientele through many challenging tasks simultaneously. Jarrod promotes within the industry the standard for levels of service through communication, pro-activeness and constant clear progression advice of individual tasks irrespective of their complexities.
Jarrod has a natural ability to assist every situation with an approach of empathy, active listening, tailored content and communication that results in a style that proves positive for clients in achieving successful outcomes. As a Division Manager, Jarrod resumes the responsibility for taking on clients that have conveyed their concerns for different reasons which results in a higher level of sensitivity towards service standards, knowledge and the ability to effectively improve previous expectations to a point that secures future business through earned respect, rapport, trust and confidence in Civium Strata.
What did you do before you arrived at Civium? Previous to Civium Strata I worked in Strata Management as a Strata Manager from May 2013 (becoming a Senior Strata Manager November 2014). Prior to this I worked in Student Accommodation at ANU campus as a building/customer service manager May 2007 – May 2013 (around 6 years), managing 500+ bed establishments where I was a licenced Real Esate Agent. I have have completed my Diploma in Property Services (Agency Management), Certificate IV in Property (Real Estate), and Advanced Diploma of Hotel Management. I also won Strata Manager of the year at the Strata Community Australia awards in 2015.
Why did you join Civium? I joined the team at Civium Strata to further my knowledge and expertise in Strata Management.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? Meeting the variety of new challenges that arise on a daily basis with Strata living.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you? My hobbies are watching movies, playing basketball and spending time with my wife and newborn daughter.
Rachael joined the Property Management industry over 4 years ago. Her invaluable experience and knowledge in the field has assisted her in finding her new career as a Strata Manager with our Civium Strata People team.
Rachael has obtained a great deal of satisfaction in assisting clients with the daily enquiries that go hand-in-hand with the responsibilities of a Strata Manager. She is continually striving to expand her knowledge and experience in the Real Estate industry and loves the challenges that come with being a Strata Manager.
What did you do before you arrived at Civium? Before working at Civium I worked at Eagle Real Estate in Holland Park, Brisbane. I was an Assistant to the Body Corporate Manager.
Why did you join Civium? I joined Civium Strata People due to a move to Canberra and an interest in perusing a career in Strata Management.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? The most satisfying part of my job is knowing that I am helping to make positive changes and helping owners with ongoing issues around their complex. It is always satisfying to have an owner call you and thank you for the help that you have provided. That’s what keeps me doing my job.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you? As we are quite new to Canberra and as my children are young, we love to get out and explore Canberra. We also love to go camping and enjoy being outdoors.
What did you do before you arrived at Civium? I started off as a Strata Manager back in 1999 managing small and large prestigious buildings. Over the course of several years held several senior positions last of which was General Manager Group Operations at a large Sydney/Northern NSW Strata Management firm.
Why did you join Civium? The vision, the culture and journey of being part of a successful and expanding organisation.
What is the most satisfying part of your job? The people engagement (staff/clients) and having completed a task, objective, project to the satisfaction of the client or beyond their expectations. Building on systems, processes and efficiencies. Building teams and a creating a supportive culture.
Outside of work, what is the thing that most interests you? My family and spending quality time with my wife Chantel and three children, Nevaeh, Shia and Whisper. Sport, Rugby League, Soccer…anything sport related.
